Right for BC
"The Price of Apathy towards Public Affairs is to be Ruled by Evil Men." Plato
At some point in time, as BC Constituents, we either have to accept the status quo or alternatively, we must recognize that 'all is not well' in the Province of British Columbia. While we are rich in resources, both natural and human, the continuing creep of self-serving governments, loyal to agendas & ideologies not necessarily in the best interests of BC Constituents, has diminished the ability of BC Constituents to enjoy the quality of life & equally importantly, the Future that should be the expectation of those of us blessed with the ability to contribute to, and reside in, this great Province of British Columbia.
A major factor in 'righting the ship' is to ensure that BC Constituents are given empirical, fact-based information to allow for critical thinking and knowledge base decision making. Decisions made without the full benefit of necessary relevant facts are often the wrong decisions - and we must educate ourselves to make better decisions concerning government so that those self-same stewards accountable to us as BC Constituents, themselves make better decisions.
Right for BC is established as a not for profit citizen guided organization that is committed to providing BC Constituents with the information, and the tools, necessary to guide BC voters as we collectively determine the future of BC.

Constituent Created / Empowered
Foundational Democracy
The misty origins of democracy gave virtually all Citizens the right, as well as the responsibility, to participate in, and enact, good governance. We have distanced ourselves from direct, participatory government & abrogated many of our responsibilities to unaccountable elected individuals as well as to a bureaucratic infrastructure that has almost inevitably become self-serving & dismissive of Constituent best interests. We must regain control over our future.
Participatory Democracy Mandate
The further we distance ourselves from those who govern us, the less likely we are to be satisfied with the outcome. The solution is very simple but, as with most things of value, there is a cost. The cost of participatory democracy, thereby more direct input into decision making and resulting outcomes, is the prerequisite of increased awareness & a commitment to critical thought. If we allow our complacency & apathy to overtake our personal responsibilities, we surrender much of our right to complain about the end result.
"People get the government they deserve". Alexander Hamilton.

"Nothing of value is free." Robert Heinlein
While most are content to enjoy rewards earned mostly by others, others would choose to stand at the table while the map to our preferred destination is being reviewed & while our course is being plotted.
Technology allows us to meet, to discuss, to debate, to strategize with one another, even though we are often vast distances apart geographically. If you have a particular talent, expertise or passion, lend us your voice & thoughts.

How Vision becomes BC's Reality
The Future Begins Now
One snowflake can trigger an avalanche - but not without the help of countless other snowflakes that fell before. We, as individuals, often don't think we can truly make a difference but the reality is that we can. Individually & together.
Synergy: 'The increased effectiveness that results when two or more people or organizations work together'.
